HAIR AND MAKEUP RECOMMENDATIONS FOR YOUR BOUDOIR SESSION || HOUSTON, TX.
If you are like me, you may not be very good at doing hair and makeup on yourself. I feel like I am still learning what looks good on me and what doesn’t. I know enough about makeup to do it every day (even though I won’t wear it every day) and still feel confident.
And my hair, as it is curly, never ends up the same no matter how many times I style it exactly the same way each time! But I have learned just to embrace it and just be confident in the midst of how it looks that day.
However, just because I feel like I have enough skill to do my hair and makeup in everyday life, does not mean I know how to do it for a photoshoot. It needs to be done in a completely different manner.
Cameras tend to pick up every single small detail. This means it will show every little “flaw”. The last time I want is for you to see your photos and see anything that you might think is unflattering. Hair and makeup can make or break your photos.

Another reason is the artist I use knows what she is doing. She has practiced and mastered her skills. She knows exactly how to do makeup specifically for a boudoir photoshoot. So there is no one I trust more to have you ready for the camera!
But I don’t normally wear a lot of makeup and I want to feel like myself…
You may leave the salon feeling like you are wearing a pound of makeup. I want to assure you that while it feels that way, it does not look that way. And it won’t photograph that way either!
You will see your photos and only see the natural beauty that is you. Trust me on that!
How to wear your hair all depends on you!
I always say that natural is the best way to go when it comes to your hair. Meaning, if you have naturally curly/wavy hair as I do, wear it curly! Even if it is a little messy in its natural state, it will translate so playful and sexy in your photos! I want you to be authentically you!
But if you sit in the salon chair having no idea what you want for your hair, my artist will give you a soft wave. Which is a great style for a boudoir shoot.
I have even had women ask for second-day curls which is also a great look. It is the perfect amount of messy and natural!
