9 OUTFIT TIPS FOR YOUR BOUDOIR SHOOT || HTX
You may feel completely overwhelmed while getting ready for your boudoir shoot. There are a ton of things you are trying to figure out and you have no idea where to start.
The last thing I want is for you to feel so lost, you are discouraged. One of the main reasons for a boudoir session is to feel confident so I don’t want you going into your session feeling discouraged or lost.
I am always here for you to answer any questions you may have. But if you are just needing a place to start, here are 9 outfit tips for your boudoir session.
Make sure it fits!
This is my number one tip for a reason. If IT doesn’t fit, you will not only feel uncomfortable but it may not translate as flattering as you are hoping it would.
My rule to follow is always one size bigger. Those cute undies you have been thinking about getting, need to be one size bigger than you normally wear. Why? So they don’t pinch, roll, give you line indentions, or end up unflattering in any way.
Size is not the only thing you need to keep in mind when looking for outfits. You want something that is going to look good on YOUR body type.
Those cute little bralettes are not flattering on everybody. When in doubt, support the girls. They need all the support they can get when you are being posed in ways you normally wouldn’t be in.
Bodysuits
My absolute favorite! You just cant go wrong with a bodysuit for you boudoir session! They are classic, timeless and so flattering on most bodies.
The possibilities are endless for bodysuits.
Want to have longer legs? Get a high-waisted one
Want to go for that more classic look? Opt for a simple black or white lace one
Want to show more of your wild side? Choose one with straps going across your chest or legs
Want to have more of a completed look? Get one with garter straps and pair it with cute matching thigh-high stocking
It doesn’t end there. You can get so creative with bodysuits and accessories.
Sweaters
I love a good comfy boudoir session. The pictures come out so cozy yet sensual. And you don’t need to put a whole lot of thought into your outfits.
Grab your favorite sweater that falls off your shoulder. So it is showing a little skin. Make sure it isn’t too long or too bulky. We don’t want to be hiding all of your best assets! We want to be able to highlight your body and still see your body shape.
Crop Tops
You can get so creative with crop tops! If you have the right bust, it will show just a tiny bit of under boob which might send your love’s head spinning.
AND the fun part with this look is you can get it from one of your love’s favorite shirts even if it isn’t already a crop top. Pair it with a cute pair of panties and heels and watch out!
Robes
Robes are one of the most sensual accessories you can add to your outfit. (Or by itself to give that implied nude look)
For this look, you are going to want a silk or lace robe. Those fabrics will fall just right on your body giving off sensual feminine vibes.
Nude
Being nude for a photoshoot can definitely be scary or intimating for most women. I get it! I want to assure you that I am a woman too and it will just be me and you in the studio.
With the right posing, implied nudity will show off your curves and your confidence! I wouldn’t be surprised if these ended up being some of your favorite photos for your photo album.
High Heels
If you are like me, you might HATE high heels because walking in them takes a lot of thought. Don’t worry! You won’t be walking around in them!
Heels that are 4-5 inches long are the best! They give you that length so your legs look so much longer! Pumps are perfect for a boudoir shoot!
BUT paired with an oversized sweater, ankle boots make one of the best accessories! So don’t leave those at home if you have one of your cute sweaters packed for the shoot!
Accessories
Jewelry can make or break a photo. There are just some pieces that either don’t translate well in photos or they just lay on your body in a way that is not flattering.
If you are wanting to wear a necklace, pick a short one or even a choker. You could even get a really pretty custom-made necklace by my good friend at Eye Candy Ink. She can get you something that is not only really sensual but the perfect length for your photos.
Earrings are a classic way to add to an outfit. But the same thing applies to earrings, If they are too long or dangly, they just don’t translate well in photos or are in the way. A small set of hoops or diamond studs is the way to go!
Other
If you live in the Houston area like I do, your significant other is probably OBSESSED with the Astros. Actually, my husband and I are probably the only people in Houston who don’t follow them religiously! So you might also love them as well!
You can absolutely bring any Atros gear you may own! Sporty t-shirts paired with a cute pair of lacy undies and knee-high socks/stocking is killer!
I just don’t recommend sports jerseys. They tend to swallow you up and we want to show you off!
Don’t Forget
I am always here to help! If you are still feeling stuck, then don’t hesitate to reach out! I would love to assist you in any way that I can!
